Holy moly, this is a stunning wine under $35 with tax. This Cabernet Franc is very impressive, showing great purity of fruits, perfect balance and a crisp approach to the difficult 2021 vintage. On the nose, this wine exudes aromas of red cherry, red currants blackberry, pipe tobacco, tomato leaves, and a hint of wet stone. The palate delivers crisp and bright red fruits like red cherry, ripe raspberry, red pepper jelly, cassis, licorice and vanilla, ending on a surprising charcoal-like minerality. The mid-palate offers a perfect medium body weight, the structure delivers great acidity, and the tannins are softly integrated already. This is a super GEM for the price-point and sets my expectations very high for the top-end Queylus cuvee.  (CWC, June 27, 2024).
