Easy-drinking and approachable—these are the calling cards of this delightful Gamay. At just $22, this wine is sooo easy to love 😊. Fermented in three different vessels (50% oak, 25% concrete, and 25% stainless steel), it offers impressive complexity for the price. On the nose, it’s layered and expressive, with notes of violet, truffle, cardamom, red cherry, cranberry, blueberry, bay leaf, white pepper, and potpourri. The palate is surprisingly sophisticated for its price point—weightless yet with a medium to full body and beautifully fine, textural tannins. The flavour profile echoes the nose, and there are definite similarities to the character of the Courtney Block fruit as well. A juicy burst through the mid-palate and impressive length on the finish make this a fantastic QPR (quality-to-price ratio) pick. (Carl Boucher, March 1, 2025)
