2022 Vineland Elevation Cabernet "Bo-Teek Vineyard" | 92pts

Cab Franc is far and beyond the king varietal of the challenging 2022 vintage, and it truly shines in this wine. I would go further to say this: the quality rivals the famed 2020 vintage. It does it in a very different way though. 2020 was big and plush, while 2022 is structured and precise. Nose of dark raspberry, espresso coffee, blackcurrant, and graphite. The palate is linear, showcasing bright acidity with sticky tannins. Flavours of dark red berries, mocha, a hint of mint, and a wonderful line of stony minerality on the next-level finish. This wine is built to age for a decade or more, and I like the subtle oak presence that softens it enough to drink beautifully now too.
